"The Boy with the Star Tattoo," by Talia Carner.
From one quaint French village to the next, Israeli agents roam the countryside with one goal: to rescue the lost Jewish children who had been hidden during the Holocaust. The war is over, but for many, the trauma that flowed from the Nazi invasion of France spills into the decades that follow, from the struggle to smuggle a new generation into what would become the State of Israel to the lives of those descended from the survivors who must once again defend their country and its future in a secret operation in the French port city of Cherbourg.
Dr. Linda Burghardt, Scholar-in-Residence, will lead the discussion.
We will meet on Wednesday, March 19, at 1:00 p.m. on Zoom.
