Resilience and Adaptability: Lessons from a Holocaust Survivor as We Approach the End of the Coronavirus Lock-Down, was a virtual program presented by the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County and the Sid Jacobson JCC, that explored the various challenges that we all have faced in transitioning away from the lockdown due to the Coronavirus. This program was originally presented on June 22, 2020.

The speakers were Holocaust Survivor, Ruth Mermelstein, who discussed the lessons she learned about adaptability and resilience after the end of the Holocaust; Alberto Munera, the Executive Director of La Fuerza, an organization that provides a range of direct services to improve the social, literary, educational, cultural and economic conditions of Hispanic-Americans in Glen Cove and its surrounding communities, who described some of the challenges his clients faced as they contemplate the lifting of the Coronavirus lockdown; and Michelle Laser, a licensed social worker and Director of Social Services at SJJCC, who provided tools and guidance to get through a difficult time.
