Statement on Confederate Flag Found Tied to Door of Museum of Jewish Heritage
The Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County joins Gov. Cuomo of New York, Mayor de Blasio of New York City, and Jack Kliger, president and CEO of the Museum of Jewish Heritage, in condemning the "atrocious attack" on our community that occurred Friday, when unknown individuals tied a Confederate flag to the door of the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Manhattan. The deployment of this symbol of hate is especially onerous in that it defaces an institution created to foster remembrance of the 6 million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust. We support Mr. Kliger's call for "swift and forceful response" by law enforcement.
